Emily Hughes

Emily began her career in animal care in 2013 at a luxury dog hotel, where she developed a passion for understanding animal behavior and learning the unique characteristics of different breeds. She graduated from St. Petersburg College’s Veterinary Nursing program in 2019 and has since gained extensive experience in emergency and critical care, including working in a busy multispecialty emergency and referral hospital.

Throughout her career, Emily has held leadership and supervisory roles and developed a strong passion for patient care, surgery, emergency medicine, and mentoring veterinary professionals. She believes excellent veterinary care combines medical knowledge, attention to detail, compassion, and individualized care for every patient.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys caring for her rare houseplant collection, reading, and finding new adventures with her daughter. She is also a devoted pet mom to two dogs and two cats.
